Meet the Burros
Our First Burros
Every mission needs a beginning. For Burros for Heroes, that beginning includes two very special donkeys: Holly and Molly.
Holly and Molly represent the heart of what Burros for Heroes is being built around: calm, connection, patience, trust, and the simple healing that can happen when people and animals spend meaningful time together.
Holly is expecting.
Burros for Heroes is excited to share that Holly is pregnant. What started with two steady hearts in the pasture is now growing into something even bigger.
Holly’s pregnancy is a special reminder of new beginnings, hope, and the future of this mission. As we continue building Burros for Heroes, we are grateful for the chance to care for Holly, support Molly, and prepare to welcome another little burro into the story.
Holly
The embodiment of sweetness.
Holly is Molly’s mom, and now she is carrying the next little chapter of Burros for Heroes. We are not completely sure how old Holly is yet, but her personality already says plenty. She is gentle, sweet, steady, and carries herself with the kind of calm that fits the heart of this mission.
Holly represents the quiet strength of a good burro. She does not need to be loud to make an impact. Her sweetness, steady presence, and now her growing role as an expecting mom make her a special part of the Burros for Heroes story.
Molly
The baby of Holly.
Molly is Holly’s baby and is roughly one year old. She brings energy, curiosity, and a little bit of attitude to the pasture. She is still learning, still growing, and still figuring out exactly how much personality one young burro can get away with.
Molly reminds us that healing and growth are not always quiet and polished. Sometimes they are playful, stubborn, curious, and full of life.
Their Role in the Mission
At Burros for Heroes, the animals matter. Holly and Molly are not props or background animals. They are living partners in a mission built around trust, care, patience, and connection.
Their health, safety, comfort, and dignity will always be part of the foundation. As the organization grows, the goal is to build programs that are good for the people being served and good for the animals involved.
Holly, Molly, and the new little one on the way are part of a bigger vision: a place where Veterans, families, first responders, community partners, volunteers, and rescued animals can find purpose, peace, and connection.
